DOCUMENTARYDESIGN GbR is an initiative founded by Pablo Ocqueteau & Philine von Düszeln to create interdisciplinary cultural projects in the fields of film, design and photography.
Pablo Ocqueteau, born in Coyhaique, Chile studied photography, product design and lighting in Spain, Argentina and Chile. Since 2008 he has been working as a freelance photographer, filmmaker and designer in Germany and Chile.
Philine von Düszeln, born in Bremen, Germany studied Audiovisual Communication, Scenery, Lighting and Anthropology in Spain, Switzerland, Argentina and Germany. Since 2008 she has been working as a freelance documentary filmmaker, photographer and journalist in Germany and Chile.
They founded Documentary Design to create interdisciplinary cultural projects related to image, identity and materiality. Their work includes the participative photography project and exhibition “Selfies from Oranienplatz”, co- production and photography of the feature documentaries “Punishment Island”, “The Magic Legacy” and “Cairo Jazz Revolution”, the photographic series “Ick’ bin ein Berliner”, creative direction of the political campaign “Haz tu voto volar”, and direction and production of the interactive documentary “Aysén Profundo” which was supported by UNESCO, financed by Fondart and short-listed for the One World Media Awards 2013 in London and selected for Bienal de Artes Mediales BAM17 in Santiago de Chile. Most recently they have been developing the hand-thrown clay speakers “Mapuguaquén – The Sound of the Earth”; that were funded by Fondart 2016 and PRAE Corfo 2017, won a Green Product Award in Germany, a Special Mention at Salone Satellite at Salone del Mobile de Milán, were finalist at Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño, BID16, Madrid, short-listed for the “Sello de Excelencia en Innovación” of the National Council of Arts and Culture in Chile, and participated in the SoundTech Accelerator program in Denmark and the WORTH! partnership project by the European Commission.
